Bethany Joy School
Bethany Joy School is a community-centered APBET school in Dagoretti, Kawangware, Nairobi, serving children from needy, orphaned, and vulnerable backgrounds.
Our History
Bethany Joy School opened in 2012 (operated by Walter Orlando) with just a few children, with the aim of providing schooling for those in low-income areas who cannot afford higher-fee schools. It has since grown in infrastructure and student numbers, benefitting from local and international support (e.g. Watumull Family Children’s Fund) to build permanent classrooms and improve learning conditions. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
Mission
To nurture learners in need or vulnerability with education, ensuring access, dignity, and growth, by providing a safe and supportive learning environment. (Derived from being a school for needy/orphans/vulnerable children in the community.)
Vision
A community empowered through education, where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed regardless of background. (Inferred from school’s focus as an APBET community-based institution.)
